7 Waterfalls Loop

Jardín

Trail Run or City Run·14.97 km·707 m elevation

About this route

Jardín's most rewarding backcountry route — a proper trail loop starting from the town center that earns its views. The first 5 km are on pavement before transitioning to dirt road, where you'll pay a 15,000 COP entrance fee at a private finca. From there the road narrows to singletrack, and the path to Cascada Salto del Ángel is straightforward to follow. After the falls, expect roughly 1 km of genuinely unclear trail before it opens back up into sweeping valley views and some of the best birdwatching in the region. Worth every confusing meter. The route is highlighted on maps.me — download it before you leave town, not as a backup but as a requirement. The forest sections are no place to navigate by feel.

Safety

Do not run the forest section alone. Navigation after Salto del Ángel requires attention for roughly 1 km — have the maps.me route active on your phone before you start. Tell someone your plan and expected return time.

Water & drinks

No stores or fincas on route. Carry enough for the full loop and top up from rivers along the way — water sources are reliable but bring a filter or purification tabs.

Dogs

Almost none. True backcountry with very few fincas on route.
